    What is 30X13? (Quick Overview)

    Grade family: martensitic stainless, comparable to X30Cr13 / 1.4028 / SUS420J2 / 3Cr13

Strengths: high hardness after Q&T, good wear resistance, fair corrosion resistance in mild media

Caveats: limited weldability; procedure control (preheat/PWHT) recommended

    Heat-Treatment Guidance (General)

Annealing/Softening: for machining readiness before hardening

Hardening (Quench): austenitize, then oil/air quench to develop martensite

Tempering: select temperature to balance hardness vs. toughness (e.g., ~200–300 °C for higher hardness; higher temp for more toughness)

    Product Forms & Sizes

    Plates/Sheets/Strips — mill & precision-ground options

    Bars & Rods — hot-rolled, peeled/turned, bright; round/square/hex

    Pipes/Tubes — seamless/welded, ID/OD controlled; hydrotest on request

    Corrosion & Weldability Notes

Corrosion: adequate for atmospheric/wash-down environments; for brine/chlorides choose coating or higher-alloy grades.

Weldability: limited. Use qualified procedures with preheat/interpass control and post-weld tempering to reduce cracking and restore toughness.

    Tolerances, Certificates & Compliance

    Certificates: EN 10204 3.1; third-party inspection (BV/DNV/LR/TÜV) on request

Tolerances: per drawing or standard (ASTM/EN/DIN)
