Titanium Balance Note

Titanium is the base element in PT-1M / ПТ-1М, PT-3V / ПТ-3В, PT-7M / ПТ-7М and PT-7Msv / ПТ-7Мсв. The remaining chemistry is controlled through aluminium, vanadium, zirconium and impurity limits to support corrosion resistance, mechanical performance and fabrication quality.

Role of Alloying Elements

Aluminium

Aluminium improves strength, stability and lightweight performance in titanium alloys. It supports the balance between corrosion resistance, formability and mechanical properties.

Vanadium in PT-3V / ПТ-3В

Vanadium supports strength and phase stability in PT-3V titanium alloy. It helps improve mechanical performance while maintaining useful ductility and toughness.

Zirconium in PT-7M / ПТ-7М

Zirconium helps improve corrosion behavior, alloy stability and performance in demanding environments. It is important for PT-7M pipe, tube, marine, nuclear and aggressive environment applications.

Controlled Impurities

Controlled ElementImportance
IronControlled for mechanical consistency and corrosion performance
CarbonLimited to maintain titanium alloy quality
SiliconControlled for chemistry consistency
NitrogenControlled because it affects titanium alloy behavior
OxygenControlled for strength, ductility and fabrication quality
HydrogenControlled because hydrogen affects titanium performance and welding quality

PT-3V / ПТ-3В Mechanical Properties

PT-3V / ПТ-3В hot-rolled bars and annealed plates provide a useful balance of strength, ductility and toughness. This makes PT-3V suitable for sheet, strip, plate, bar, rod, profile, tube, forging and forged blank applications.

PT-3V is used where semi-finished titanium alloy material must support high strength, resistance to small plastic deformation, fatigue resistance and reliable fabrication performance.

PT-7M / ПТ-7М Mechanical Properties

PT-7M / ПТ-7М offers good ductility and corrosion-resistant titanium alloy performance. Sheet products may provide high elongation, while bar products provide useful strength and reduction of area for industrial components.

PT-7M is widely used where pipe, tube, sheet, bar and corrosion-resistant titanium products require dependable mechanical performance and weldability.

PT-7Msv / ПТ-7Мсв Wire Mechanical Properties

PT-7Msv / ПТ-7Мсв welding wire is commonly referenced with tensile strength around 440–635 MPa and elongation around 16–20% for GOST 27265-87 wire.

Final PT-7Msv wire properties should be confirmed by MTC, wire diameter, surface condition, wire cleanliness and applicable welding wire standard.

Weldability

PT-7M / ПТ-7М is listed as weldable without limitations and is suitable for welded titanium pipe, tube and fabricated assemblies when proper titanium welding practice is used.

PT-7Msv / ПТ-7Мсв is supplied as titanium welding wire and filler wire for TIG welding, argon welding and titanium fabrication. Welding should use clean wire, clean joint preparation, inert gas protection and protection from oil, moisture and surface contamination.

Machinability, Formability and Corrosion Resistance

PT-1M / ПТ-1М, PT-3V / ПТ-3В and PT-7M / ПТ-7М can be processed by cutting, turning, milling, drilling, grinding, cold forming, hot forming, tube rolling, tube drawing and pipe fabrication.

These grades offer corrosion-resistant titanium alloy performance for marine systems, nuclear engineering, chemical equipment, industrial fabrication, pipelines, pipe fittings and aggressive environment service. Proper tooling, coolant and process control are recommended for titanium machining.
